Dear backers and customers,
We want to take a moment to update you on the current tariff situation and how it is affecting the Gamefold project.
As many of you may know, the United States recently imposed tariffs of up to 145% on goods imported from China. This has more than doubled the original production cost of each table. The impact has been significant across many industries, and like others, we have been directly affected.
We completely understand your concerns and frustrations, and we want you to know that we hear you.
You might be wondering, “What if you had shipped sooner?” It is a fair question. The honest answer is that we chose to address some early design flaws. Not because we were being overly picky, but because we explored several design solutions that required careful testing and verification before moving forward. While this did delay shipping, we strongly believe it was the right decision to ensure quality.
That said, production has not stopped.
We currently have two containers full of Gamefold tables arriving in the US in the next two weeks, with more on the way. International orders are already shipping out, and we are continuing to produce and hold United States orders as we monitor the evolving tariff situation and wait for more stable conditions.
The current tariff situation is frustrating and unpredictable, but we are exploring every possible solution. This includes alternate sourcing, long-term production strategies, and cost management to keep moving forward without compromising the experience you backed.
Thank you for your patience, your support, and your belief in this project. We are doing everything we can to deliver the Gamefold you have been waiting for.
More updates coming soon.

While I understand about the production and shipping delays, I’m a bit concerned about the tariffs. If the amount comes to more than I paid for the table, I can’t afford this additional charge. I’d love to get a refund….
Your updates don’t provide updates. They provide no actual timeline for those of use who have been waiting for greater than 8 months. This shouldn’t be this hard to provide. A simple listing of when to expect our shipments. An example of useful information (with made up numbers) orders 1-100 march 2023 to march 2024 should be receiving their orders by xxx month 2025. Orders 100-500 April 2024 to sep2024 should be receiving their orders by xx month 2025.
This would be better information then the vagueness that we receive once a month.
I have been waiting for about a year and am sorry I didn’t join the Kickstarter group, especially now that they will get their tables first. If we get them at all. I paid $164.00 for shipping. Since shipping is free now on the site, will that be refunded? If not, can you put that toward the tariffs and ship the tables? I am at the point where I would pay the terriffs to get my table. I have spent about $1,400 total and just want my table.
First off, I fully understand delays in production. This is not my first Kickstarter and plenty of others have has delays.
What I don’t understand (and have asked earlier in this post) is why delays?
What is your reasoning in delaying?
Are you hoping that the tariffs come down in the near future?
What kind of time limit are you planning before shipping regardless of what the tariffs are?
I think a BIG issue that people are having is the lack of communication regarding your actual plans and thought process of why you decided to hold, how long you currently plan that hold to be, what criteria you have for releasing the hold, what your plan is for if/when the tariffs cost increases down the road BECAUSE you decided to hold, etc..
While the production delays were, IMO, justified, delaying now may do nothing but increase the cost to us down the road.
Sure it may get better, but how long will US customers be forced to wait?
While I’m not sure I’d be willing to pay the tariffs right now, since the tariff would be more than double the price of my items, why not let those who do want it now pay that cost?
They’d have to pay customs directly anyway.
Also, is there a plan for items that were already arrived in the US before the tariffs kicked in? Will those be shipped by Kickstarter backer order?
Also please confirm that NOBODY who ordered after the Kickstarter in the US will get theirs before all Kickstarter backers do first.
You REALLY need to update your store as well and emphasize that those orders do NOT include US shipping because there is NO REASON to ship new orders to the US before KS orders.
That has NOTHING to do with the tariffs and is completely on you guys.
Happy for the update, but it sounds like this was a risk on your side, and not the consumer whom has already paid. It’s been quite a long time waiting and I think you’ve pushed the patience of your backers. While I understand adjusted prices are likely on unpaid orders, I’d like to not wait yet another month on month while you are holding my money for something I have not received. The running game night group joke asking me about this table is getting old.
