Dear backers and customers,
We want to take a moment to update you on the current tariff situation and how it is affecting the Gamefold project.
As many of you may know, the United States recently imposed tariffs of up to 145% on goods imported from China. This has more than doubled the original production cost of each table. The impact has been significant across many industries, and like others, we have been directly affected.
We completely understand your concerns and frustrations, and we want you to know that we hear you.
You might be wondering, “What if you had shipped sooner?” It is a fair question. The honest answer is that we chose to address some early design flaws. Not because we were being overly picky, but because we explored several design solutions that required careful testing and verification before moving forward. While this did delay shipping, we strongly believe it was the right decision to ensure quality.
That said, production has not stopped.
We currently have two containers full of Gamefold tables arriving in the US in the next two weeks, with more on the way. International orders are already shipping out, and we are continuing to produce and hold United States orders as we monitor the evolving tariff situation and wait for more stable conditions.
The current tariff situation is frustrating and unpredictable, but we are exploring every possible solution. This includes alternate sourcing, long-term production strategies, and cost management to keep moving forward without compromising the experience you backed.
Thank you for your patience, your support, and your belief in this project. We are doing everything we can to deliver the Gamefold you have been waiting for.
More updates coming soon.

You missed another deadline: April 28th: Last of the Kickstarter orders shipped, including brown table orders. I still didn’t get an e-mail. I read in some comments there’s a delay and you needed to redo labeling. Why wasn’t this in the update? It’s what it’s for… This is getting ridiculous!

RE: Shipping regunds/adjustments.
While I don’t work for Gamefold I’d say that it is EXTREMELY unlikely.
If they did that, that have to refund everyone for shopping that purchased before this promo.
Every promo has dates that they are valid for including start dates.
If you purchase prior to that then you aren’t eligible.
The only way that I can see that happening is if you can get a refund, then you repurchase it during the promo period but then you would definitely be at the end of the line for shipping.
I have no concern about waiting out this situation and I know this wasn’t on anyone’s radar. Hoping for all that there is a positive outcome. Not sure if there is an option to shift to individual direct “order and shipment” from China as an alternative, but if value is under $800 per shipment that might be a viable alternative. Something to research, anyway.
I take issue with this:
“While there’s a limited-time free shipping offer, prices have increased, and taxes, tariffs, and duties are not included—they must be paid by the customer. In many cases, these additional costs can be significantly higher compared to those who paid in advance through the Pledge Manager.”
The current price is actually $20 lower than I paid on 6/1/2024 and the delivery date at that time was September of 2024 according to the receipt. Taxes, tariffs, and duties not being included might be an explanation, if you are indicating that Yarro is paying those costs for my order. Otherwise, it looks like I’m on the hook for the taxes, tariff, and duties for my order in addition to paying more and an additional $135 for shipping back on 9/12/2024.
I get that you can’t run a company selling a product that cost you more than double what you charged for it. I don’t envy your situation.
You have painted yourself into a corner and are stuck between offering refunds with funds it sounds like you don’t have, or honoring the agreed upon terms and losing more than WE invested in the first place.
Regardless, it is terrible optics to say “The free shipping is because we raised the price and didn’t include additional costs” to people who actually paid more, also paid additional shipping, and over 7 months after paying that shipping are still waiting and are still looking at also having to pay those same additional costs.
What am I missing? Because as it stands, your explanation is frankly, both insulting and tone deaf.
While I understand about the production and shipping delays, I’m a bit concerned about the tariffs. If the amount comes to more than I paid for the table, I can’t afford this additional charge. I’d love to get a refund….
