Gamefold & Tariffs

Gamefold & Tariffs

Dear backers and customers,

We want to take a moment to update you on the current tariff situation and how it is affecting the Gamefold project.

As many of you may know, the United States recently imposed tariffs of up to 145% on goods imported from China. This has more than doubled the original production cost of each table. The impact has been significant across many industries, and like others, we have been directly affected.

We completely understand your concerns and frustrations, and we want you to know that we hear you.

You might be wondering, “What if you had shipped sooner?” It is a fair question. The honest answer is that we chose to address some early design flaws. Not because we were being overly picky, but because we explored several design solutions that required careful testing and verification before moving forward. While this did delay shipping, we strongly believe it was the right decision to ensure quality.

That said, production has not stopped.
We currently have two containers full of Gamefold tables arriving in the US in the next two weeks, with more on the way. International orders are already shipping out, and we are continuing to produce and hold United States orders as we monitor the evolving tariff situation and wait for more stable conditions.

The current tariff situation is frustrating and unpredictable, but we are exploring every possible solution. This includes alternate sourcing, long-term production strategies, and cost management to keep moving forward without compromising the experience you backed.

Thank you for your patience, your support, and your belief in this project. We are doing everything we can to deliver the Gamefold you have been waiting for.

More updates coming soon.

You’re now over a year late from your original delivery and you kept delaying it once. You had plenty of warning, this is on you and you owe us all. Don’t blame anything ir anyone else. We’ve heard your reasons for the past year as to why it keeps getting delayed. You should have prepared greater with all the time you’ve had with the delays before and all the money you’ve gotten from this.

Will Canadian orders be shipped directly to Canada to avoid the tariffs?

The lede might be buried here a bit on the “produce and hold”. Is this going to further push back the delivery of the tables? I have a post Kickstarter order from January of last year, with the original shipping estimate of May 2024. I haven’t complained at all, trying to be understanding, even as this has becoming a running joke in my house at my expense. But really how much more should we be expected to endure? Prior to this it was looking like early July of 2025 as the delivery, a full 14 months past what was initially promised. I think it’s fair that we get a timeline that you can stick to, we shouldn’t be the ones that always have to take the pain.

You said free shipping when I purchased last night. This was the main reason I purchased. If im not getting free shipping then I would like to cancel my order

So what I’m understanding is, you’re holding on to orders when they arrive on continent in the US. In doing so avoiding the tariffs, but delaying delivery. If this is so we are now looking at 1 year overdue delivery which may turn into indefinitely delayed. Have you explored on continent production?
