Gamefold & Tariffs

Gamefold & Tariffs

Dear backers and customers,

We want to take a moment to update you on the current tariff situation and how it is affecting the Gamefold project.

As many of you may know, the United States recently imposed tariffs of up to 145% on goods imported from China. This has more than doubled the original production cost of each table. The impact has been significant across many industries, and like others, we have been directly affected.

We completely understand your concerns and frustrations, and we want you to know that we hear you.

You might be wondering, “What if you had shipped sooner?” It is a fair question. The honest answer is that we chose to address some early design flaws. Not because we were being overly picky, but because we explored several design solutions that required careful testing and verification before moving forward. While this did delay shipping, we strongly believe it was the right decision to ensure quality.

That said, production has not stopped.
We currently have two containers full of Gamefold tables arriving in the US in the next two weeks, with more on the way. International orders are already shipping out, and we are continuing to produce and hold United States orders as we monitor the evolving tariff situation and wait for more stable conditions.

The current tariff situation is frustrating and unpredictable, but we are exploring every possible solution. This includes alternate sourcing, long-term production strategies, and cost management to keep moving forward without compromising the experience you backed.

Thank you for your patience, your support, and your belief in this project. We are doing everything we can to deliver the Gamefold you have been waiting for.

More updates coming soon.

Not a Kickstarter backer, but pre-ordered on the website back when this was projected to be delivering last year.

I get why there were so many delays, but at this point am concerned if my pre-order will actually be fulfilled. My belief in this project and your ability to deliver it is quickly eroding. Will you be looking at cancelling pre-orders because you will not be able to fulfill them and just focus on the Kickstarter backers instead since they took a financial risk while pre-order folks are just regular consumers that expect to get a refund if you don’t fulfill?

Have you been in contact with your local representatives? Could you work on providing letters or scripts we could use for calling ours to let them know the damage these tariffs are causing to small businesses?

On the bright side, not all tables were shipped to the States at once! This is a difficult time for many companies and although I don’t live in the States I feel I should still be able to voice my appreciation for not rushing the product. We put a lot of money into these tables, and I’d rather we get a premium product. I sincerely believe the fault for this situation is not yours and people being angry at you over the tariffs is simply silly and misdirected. Contact your representatives.

I want what I paid 1200$ for 2 years ago and it already being over a year behind expected delivery date is absolutely insane.
