Gamefold & Tariffs

Gamefold & Tariffs

Dear backers and customers,

We want to take a moment to update you on the current tariff situation and how it is affecting the Gamefold project.

As many of you may know, the United States recently imposed tariffs of up to 145% on goods imported from China. This has more than doubled the original production cost of each table. The impact has been significant across many industries, and like others, we have been directly affected.

We completely understand your concerns and frustrations, and we want you to know that we hear you.

You might be wondering, “What if you had shipped sooner?” It is a fair question. The honest answer is that we chose to address some early design flaws. Not because we were being overly picky, but because we explored several design solutions that required careful testing and verification before moving forward. While this did delay shipping, we strongly believe it was the right decision to ensure quality.

That said, production has not stopped.
We currently have two containers full of Gamefold tables arriving in the US in the next two weeks, with more on the way. International orders are already shipping out, and we are continuing to produce and hold United States orders as we monitor the evolving tariff situation and wait for more stable conditions.

The current tariff situation is frustrating and unpredictable, but we are exploring every possible solution. This includes alternate sourcing, long-term production strategies, and cost management to keep moving forward without compromising the experience you backed.

Thank you for your patience, your support, and your belief in this project. We are doing everything we can to deliver the Gamefold you have been waiting for.

More updates coming soon.

I appreciate you doing what you can. You didn’t make the policies that led to this situation.

Just to make sure I understand. Tables are currently on hold on shipping to the US until tarrifs adjust, or there’s another way to deliver?

Also, I’m generally curious about what your solutions are. I’m running into a similar issue at work and I’m trying to find workarounds. One we’ve been considering, is shipping our resources to a different country, and then manufacturing at that country instead that then ships to the US. We also have more money to be able to do something like that, not sure what your situation is but that’s something you could potentially look at

So are we going to get our tables?

I appreciate you keeping us posted. The tariff situation is too volatile for everyone right now. I backed this project in part because of the pricing. I didn’t think I would ever be able to afford a gaming table on a fixed income, but your project made it possible. So I want you to know that I would rather wait a while for my table than pay more for it. Thank you.

With tariffs changing daily, how is this ultimately affecting us? Tables should of been out 2 months ago. Are we building and shipping and charging people the cost of the table as it was built? Are you going to hold off on building til tariffs go down? You say you have “2 containers” of tables, how many tables does that equate to and where’s shipping going to start first?
